The conference will be held at the Red Lion Hotel Salt Lake Downtown (photo tour, aerial view) in Salt Lake City, Utah (photo tour). Directions, maps and travel options can be found under "How to Get There: Directions & Travel Options" on the "How" page.
Utah in general and the Salt Lake City area in particular offer lots of things to do in addition to attending CBMS 2006. There are numerous National and State Parks, Forests and Monuments; various Scenic Byways; museums, exhibits and exhibitions of various kinds; historically and culturally significant sites; and several universities (including Brigham Young University–in nearby Provo–which is hosting the conference).
The side bars on the right give a sampling of some of the internet resources available to help you begin choosing among your many options if you have the opporunity to spend some time exploring in addition to your Conference attendance. Note that most of the sites listed are not directly affiliated with the symposium and that the list is by no means exhaustive; if you have comments or suggestions about the list feel free to email firstname.lastname@example.org. Also note that many of these attractions may require entrance or participation fees; be sure to check the site for relevant details.
A block of rooms has been reserved for symposium attendees at the Red Lion Hotel Salt Lake Downtown where the conference is being held. A special rate for both single and double rooms has been arranged: reservations for the days of the conference and up to three days prior and following can be made for the special rate of $79.95 per night plus applicable taxes (currently 12.46%). Reservations must be made by calling the hotel directly at 1-800-REDLION (1-800-733-5466). The rooms are reserved under the name 'CBMS'—you must mention that the room is for CBMS 2006 in order to receive the special rate. Due to a larger than expected number of submissions, participants are encouraged to make a reservation in early April in order to receive this special rate.
